Wayne Wigington

February 20, 1944 — March 21, 2010

Wayne Thomas Wigington, 66, of Cartersville passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010 at his residence. Born February 20, 1944, he was a lifelong resident of Cartersville and was the son of the late Carter Richard Wigington and the late Ethel Mitchell Wigington. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Carl �Junior� Wigington; and his sisters, Nellie Cochran, Ruby Bagley, and Frances Edwards.



Wayne had previously been employed with Knight Lumber Yard as a carpenter. He had most recently been employed as a carpenter with Costco where he made baby furniture. Wayne enjoyed wood working, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.



The family would like to give a special thank you to Heyman Hospicecare and especially to Lola and Jody for their loving care of Wayne.



Survivors include his wife, Linda Wigington; his son, Dewayne Wigington; his daughters, Pamela Wigington, Tammy Wigington, and Misty Wigington; his grandchildren, Lacey Brown, Corey Gravley, and Thad Wigington; his great-grandchildren, Matthew Roberson, Chloe Roberson, Kenny Brown, and Payton Gravley; a number of nieces and nephews; a special friend, Adam Watson; and his dog, Ring.



Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. I.L. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Floyd Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.



Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Chapman, Bo Mulkey, Michael Wigington, Ralph Bagley, Eugene Bagley, and Gary Knox. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Thad Wigington, Corey Gravley, and Matthew Roberson. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers are requested to meet at the funeral home by 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Monday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
