Owen Wendell Moore, age 81 of Euharlee, Georgia, passed in Rome, Georgia on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
Wendell was born on September 4, 1942, in Cartersville, Georgia, to the late Fred and Fannie Mae Moore. He is also preceded in death by his son, Owen Wendell Moore Jr., his grandchild Lakeisha Cox, as well as several of his siblings.
He is survived by his children, Donna Avalos (Jose) and Rodney Moore; his grandchildren Antonio Avalos, Christopher Avalos, and Gregory Moore; his great-grandchildren Jaiden Avalos, Jaylon Griffith, Jadrian Griffith, Daieson Moore, and Brenden Moore; his great-great grandchild Legacy Avalos; the mother of his beautiful children, Carolyn Moore; his sister Patsy Vernon (A.V.); his daughter-in-law Judy Cox; as well as several other extended family members.
Owen was an avid fisher and hunter and loved being outdoors. He enjoyed working on cars and was very mechanically inclined. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 20, 2023, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. David Roach officiating. Interment will follow at Floyd Creek Cemetery in Taylorsville, Georgia. Owen's family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, the evening before the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Miguel Ashworth, Antonio Avalos, Gregory Moore, AJ Mulkey, Jason Womack, and Colt Parker.
