Wesley Harris

Wesley Harris, 90, of Cartersville passed away Monday, January 11, 2010 at his residence. Born in Canton, Georgia on January 5, 1920, he was the son of the late James Troy �Toy� Harris and the late Cora Lee Adams Harris. He was also preceded in death by one sister; five brothers; and son-in-law, Tommy Robertson.



Wesley retired from Bartow County and had owned and operated Lake Mining Company. He enjoyed cutting grass and gardening. He also loved watching Wheel of Fortune and old westerns.



Survivors include his wife of sixty-eight years, Lucile Akins Harris; his daughters and sons-in-law, Joann Cagle of Cartersville, Margaret and Terry Cornwell of White, Sue and David Heath of Cartersville, and Mary and Ricky Phipps of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Elbert Harris, Mary Ashworth, Carl Griffin, Peggy Jenkins, David Cagle, Tommy Cagle, Wayne Cagle, Roy Cornwell, Johnny Huskins, Rodney Huskins, Anthony Huskins, Cheyenne Grier, Jesse Robertson, and Mason Phipps; his great-grandchildren, Natasha Ashworth, Madison Griffin, Britney Jenkins, Brandy Jenkins, Alex Cornwell ,Austen Cornwell, Dylan Huskins, Dawson Huskins, Skylar Grier, Matthew Grier, and Ashton Robertson; his sister, Louise Bagley; his brother, James Harris; his sister-in-law, Lily Mae Harris; and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2010 at New Canaan Baptist Church with nephew Larry Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.



Serving as pallbearers will be Elbert Lee Harris, Roy Cornwell, Johnny Huskins, Rodney Huskins, Anthony Huskins, and Carl Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Robertson and Wayne Cagle. Gentlemen serving pallbearers are requested to meet at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Friday.



The family will receive friends from 5 � 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
