Mr. Will Perez, 64, of Cartersville, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Lake City Medical Center in Lake City, Florida.
Born July 22, 1951 in Kaiserslautern, Germany, he was a son of the late Francisco Perez and the late Elizabeth Becker Perez. Mr. Perez worked for YRC – Yellow Freight, and had been a truck driver for over 40 years without an accident. He loved God and had a passion for helping others and for safety. He sacrificed himself to save lives and died as a hero. Will was a loving husband and father who cared deeply about his family and friends. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Josie Perez; daughters, Kathy Hiers and her husband Chuck of Acworth, and Jenevieve Winkler and her husband Andrew of Brevard, NC; son, Will Perez, Jr. and his fiancé, Shannon Ledbetter of Cartersville; grandchildren, Sarah Hiers, Christopher Perez, Noah Winkler, and Aidan Winkler; sister, Cheryl Ann Kelly; brother, Ernie Kelly; brother-in-law, Al Ubilla of Kennesaw; and nephew, Al Steven Ubilla.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Joe Nix officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
