Mr. William �Raymond� Aycock age 93, of Lithia Springs, GA, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010.
Mr. Aycock was born in Rome, GA, on March 2, 1917, the son of the late Richard C. Aycock and Ava Beard Aycock. He served in the United States Army during World War II in New Guinea and retired from Southern Bell. Mr. Aycock was a member of First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs. In addition to his parents Mr. Aycock was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Cordle Aycock; a brother, Joe B. Aycock; and a sister, Florence Aycock Fowler.
Survivors include a son, William Aycock of Lithia Springs, GA; a daughter and son-in-law, Jacquelyn and Harold Howton of Lithia Springs, GA; four grandchildren and their spouses, Amanda and Thomas Barber of Lithia Springs, GA, Jeff and Lacey Aycock of Pensacola, FL, Monte and Erica Howton of Lithia Springs, GA, and Laura Aycock of Douglasville, GA; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ava Lee Horton of Rome, GA and Jerry and Wayman Holder of Rome, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Marion Beaver officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel.
