William Brown

March 14, 1927 — October 10, 2008

Mr. William Coye Brown, age 81, of Rome, GA, died Friday, October 10, 2008, at his residence.



Mr. Brown was born Alexander City, AL on March 14, 1927 the son of the late Frank Brown and Birdie McLeod. Mr. Brown was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers AFL-CIO Local #926 and worked in construction with heavy machinery. In addition to his parents Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Hawkins Brown.



Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Cathy Brown and Tommy and Stacey Brown; grandchildren, Stephanie and Tony Storey, Eric Brown, Storey Brown, and Alex Brown; and a sister, Etoyal Spivey.



Funeral services will be held Monday, October 13, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Dillard officiating and a friend, Charles Green giving the eulogy. Entombment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens Matthew Mausoleum.



The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Oaknoll Chapel by 1:30 on Monday: Todd Green, Mike Ford, Eric Brown, Greg Shell, Tony Storey, and Ed Wilkes.
