William "Buddy" Dockery, 86, of Adairsville, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 6, 2025. Born on August 30, 1938, in Cartersville, Georgia, he was the son of the late Willard Franklin Dockery and the late Nellie Ray Wiggington Cochran. Buddy is also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Mathis Dockery; and sisters, Imogene Dockery and Opal Sue Massey.
Buddy Loved Jesus and served Him every day of his life. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Buddy enjoyed going to the mountains and feeling the warmth of the beach. He believed in the power of Prayer. His ministry was collecting junk from people and telling them about Jesus. Buddy also loved eating at Wendy's.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Dockery Pendley; son, Robert Dockery (Lisa); grandchildren, Joey Dockery, Eric Dockery (Bry), Ashley Hall, and Candy Roden (Santiago Gonzalez); 15 great grandchildren, brother-in-law, Ralph Mathis; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Marlon Haney and Reverend Keith Willard officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2024, at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Santiago Gonzalez, Rick Crowder, James Blackmon, Jeff Evans, Gary Chapman, and Michael Wiggington. Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Edwards.
