William Ford

William Edward Ford, 70, of James Avenue, Cartersville died on Saturday, July 28, 2007, at the Cartersville Medical Center. Born on August 19, 1936 in Paulding County, he was the son of the late Price and Ellav Abernathy Ford. A long-time member of Young Street Baptist Church in Cartersville, he worked for many years as a cement finisher. He was a humorous man who never met a stranger and enjoyed being with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Gussie Stone Ford; his son, Michael E. Ford; his daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Mark Roberts of Silver Creek; his grandchildren, Amy Ford Lenardson, Danny Ford, Casey Roberts, and Jake Roberts; three great-grandchildren; his sisters, Glenda Turner and Lois Jackson, both of Carrollton; his brothers, Gene Ford of Cartersville and Dean Ford of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Charles Moore and Rev. Reggie Nations officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Cantrell, Joe Land, Scott Templeton, Danny Ford, Tony Duvall, and Mark Roberts. Pallbearers are requested to be at the funeral home by 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday.

The family will receive friends from 9 - 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
