William Gaines

Mr. William C. �Bill� Gaines, 67, of Cartersville passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the Heartland Hospice House after a brief illness. Born September 24, 1941 in Carroll County, he was the son of the late George Washington Gaines and the late Myrtle Sticher Gaines. He was also preceded in death by his wives, Janice Mozina Gaines and Carolyn Lindsey Gaines. Bill had retired after 32 years of service from Georgia Power Plant Bowen.



Survivors include his sons, Danny Gaines of Cartersville and Rodney Gaines of Piedmont, Alabama; his daughter, Cathy Gaines of Cartersville; his brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Mildred Gaines of Newnan; his aunts and uncles, Ezra and Dell Whitmore, Earnest Sticher, and Hilda Kline; his nieces and nephews, Lee Gaines, Tommy Gaines, Steve Gaines, Tim Gaines, Eugina Holloway, Natalie Jarrell, Donald Jarrell, and Kevin Jarrell; and many other extend family members.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Herman Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
