William E. Huey

William E. "Whitey" Huey, 80, passed away October 25, 2012 in Lexington, Tennessee. Born February 26, 1932 in Acworth, he was the son of the late Edward Huey and the late Eunice McClure Huey. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita White Huey; his daughter, Joann Sims; his son, William Earl Huey; and his brother, Buddy Huey.

Whitey was of the Baptist faith and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Lockheed after many years of faithful service, he was a former Acworth police officer, a member of the F.O.P. and enjoyed fishing and was an avid sports fan.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Rebecca Simpson (Jeff) of Huron, TN, Sandra Buckner (Doug) of Acworth, Timmy Huey of Jasper and David Huey (Cynthia) of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Josh Huey, Mark Sims, Cheltsey Huey and Zach Huey; his great-grandchildren, Elijah Huey, Gavin Huey and Haven Sims; his brother, Charles Huey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with the Reverend Matthew McDonald and the Reverend Donnie Summey officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Acworth. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.
