Mr. Bill Hughes, 85, of Cartersville, died Friday, July 24, 2015 at Cartersville Medical Center.
A native of Bartow County, Bill was born November 4, 1929 the son of the late Andrew Verlan Hughes and Allamae Hopkins Hughes. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lewis Hughes.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Smith Hughes; his sons and daughters-in-law, David and Tonya Hughes of Ellijay and Todd and Kimberly Hughes of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Isaiah, Victoria, Branson, Andromeda and Jazmyn Hughes, Zachary Gentry and Ashley Walker.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Stephen Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 – 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Freddie Amerson, Jason Amerson, Scott Alverson, Bill Alverson, Mike Alverson, Bobby Smith, Barry Smith and Tim Bowman will serve as pallbearers. Stacey Bowman will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
