Mr. William �Jay� Thompson, age 27, of Rome, GA, died Saturday, September 12, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Thompson was born in Floyd County, GA on February 27, 1982, the son of Phillip Wayne Thompson, Sr. and Terrie Sue Lindsey Cole. He attended Pepperell High School and graduated from Coosa Valley Technical College. Jay was an Industrial Electrical Technician. He loved to skateboard and play the X-box especially with his nephew, Weiland who referred to Jay as his �J Buddy.� Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Ruby Thompson; maternal grandfather, Bobby J. Lindsey; step father, Rickey Cole; and an uncle, Harold E. Thompson, Jr.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson is survived by his four brothers, Phillip Wayne Thompson, Jr., David Thompson and his wife, Maggie, Tyler Thompson, and Allan Cole all of Rome, GA; two sisters, Samantha Thompson and Megan Thompson both of Rome, GA; and a maternal grandmother, Estelle Lindsey of Rome, GA. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews also survive.
The family will have a private service.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 14, 2009 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home.
