William Wigley

December 31, 1962 — June 24, 2010

Mr. William Scott Wigley, age 47, of Rome, GA passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness.



Scott was born December 31, 1962 in Rome, GA son of William V. Wigley and Betty Cadle Wigley. Mr. Wigley was a 1980 graduate of Henderson High School in Chamblee, GA. Scott graduated from Reinhardt College in 1982. He graduated in 1984 from the University of Georgia with an ABJ Degree in Advertising. During his high school years he worked for the Atlanta Braves and Falcons. He also worked at Rich�s at Lenox Square Mall. After college, Scott worked for BAPCO as an advertising account executive, and later for General Electric as a customer service representative. In 1990 Scott moved to Rome with his family. He helped organize the first Multiple Sclerosis Walk in Rome in 1994. He was consistently a top fundraiser in Rome and one of the top 20 fundraisers in the state of Georgia. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Braves and Bulldog fan.



Survivors include his parents (Ret.) General Bill and Betty Wigley of Rome, GA and a brother Jeff Wigley and his wife Terri of Marietta, GA.



A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Fellowship Baptist Church with Dr. Dale Levan officiating. Interment to follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings & Miller Funeral Home.



The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet Sunday at 1:30 P.M. at the church: William Abernathy, Jr., Jim Bojo, Barry Steed, Greg Cater, Brian Bojo, Jeff Vogel and William Naguszewski, MD. Honorary pallbearers include Paul Haley, Harry Fricks, Jim Givens, Jr. Jim Givens, Sr, Roy Barrett, John Britt, III, Robert Weaver, and Dee Russell, MD.



Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the M.S. Society-Georgia Chapter, 1117 Perimeter Center, W.,Suite E 101, Atlanta, GA 30338. Heyman Hospice, c/oFloyd Medical Center, P.O.
