Mr. William Homer Wilson, age 79, of Rome, GA, died Tuesday morning in the Veterans Administration Nursing Facility in Decatur, GA.Mr. Wilson was born in Haralson County, Georgia, August 25, 1924, son of the late Homer Stokes and Viola Self Wilson and had resided in Rome and Floyd County for many years. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U S Navy having served during WW II, from 1942 until 1945. He was associated with Georgia Kraft Corp from 1952 until 1979. He was a member of the Shanklin-Attaway Post # 5 of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Howell Wilson, by a daughter, Linda Gail Wilson, two brothers, Frank and Charles Wilson.Survivors include; a step son and his wife, Clyde and Delores Ann Hunt of Rome, grandchildren; Tonya and Terry Parker, Scotty Hunt both of Cedartown, Britt Hunt and Jennifer Williams of Summerville, two nieces Grace and Tina Wilson.Graveside and interment services for Mr. William Homer Wilson will be held at 3 PM Friday July 30, 2004 at the Lucy Chapel United Methodist Church near Danville, GA with Rev. Jim Turman officiating.
