Mr. Willie Lee (Bill) Dupree, age 72, of Plainville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, surrounded by his family at his bedside.
Mr. Dupree was born in Kingston, Georgia on September 7, 1943, son of the late Grover Dupree, Sr. and Mattie Millsap Dupree. Bill was a firm believer in God, and shared the love of the Lord with everyone he met. He worked at Shaw Industries Plant 11 in Cartersville for 36 years. He never met a stranger, and was a friend to everyone. He will be missed as much as he was loved.
He is proceeded in death by his infant children, Gail and Joey Dupree and their mother, Geneva Dupree McClung, his parents, brothers and sisters-in-law Grover Dupree, Jr and Helen Dupree, Howard and Maxine Dupree, James (Bunk) and Kathy Dupree, sister and brother-in-law, John D. and Kathleen (Bird) Hatfield, brother-in-law and best friend Wayne Matthews, and brother-in-law Bryan Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Denyse Dupree of Plainville, sons and daughter-in-law, Tony and Debbie Dupree of Adairsville, and Shane Dupree of Rome; grandchildren, Jodi Dupree Farrell of Cartersville, Traci Dupree of Adairsville, Jordan, Eric, and Alexis Dupree, all of Calhoun, and Jack Chapman of Cartersville; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Connie and Bobby Chapman of Cartersville; stepson and daughter-in-law Michael and Katie Turner of Calhoun; four sisters, Maggie Potts of Cartersville, Leila Dupree of Kingston, Ella Matthews and Ruby Dupree, both of Adairsville; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles (Nub) and Ollie Dupree of Kingston; mother-in-law and father-in-law Ethel and Toby Kennedy of Acworth; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 25, 2015 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend C.E. Wilkey, The Reverend Doc Hatfield and The Reverend Josh James officiating. The family will receive visitors on Saturday evening from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Kingston, Georgia.
Pallbearers include Shane Davis, Charles Dupree, Harold Dupree, Mark Dupree, Jeff Dupree, and Bobby Chapman. Larry Tidwell, Doyle Cole, Dennis Smith, Steve Smith, and Warren Smith will serve as honorary pallbearers.
