Willie Thornton

Mrs. Willie Belle Thornton, 69, of White, formerly of Adairsville, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2009 at her residence. Born in Ellijay on July 30, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Willie Gibson and the late Nancy Burns Gibson and was the next to last of fourteen children.



Before retiring Belle was employed by the 76 Truck Stop in Adairsville as a grill cook and window shopping was one of her favorite past times.



Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Tuggle of White; her grandchildren, Jeffery Tuggle, Tara and Blake Matthews, and Greg Tuggle; her great-grandchildren, Noah and Dylan Matthews; her brother, Bobby Gibson of Resaca; her sisters, Madge Jolly of Albany, Ruby Williams of Sylvester, and Jurline Stancil of Tennessee; and her special friend, Betty Steward.



A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 24, 2009 at the Open Bible Wesleyan Church with Rev. Larry Huskins officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
