Wilma Amos

Mrs. Wilma J. Amos, 65, of Cartersville, was called home Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at her residence. A native of Bartow County, she was born April 29, 1948 to the late Charlie Otis Prather and the late Beatrice Evelyn Ellis Prather.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Tommy Neal Amos; two sisters, Sara Jo Soulis and Betty Lou Lumpkin; and two brothers, C. L. and Tommy Prather. Mrs. Amos was a member of the Cartersville Church of God. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning and decorating. Her favorite holidays were Christmas and Easter.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Marshall Neal Amos of Cartersville; her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Cliff Stone of Cartersville; her son and daughter-in-law, Tony C. and Frannie Amos of Taylorsville; her sister, Ruby "Tootie" Tilley of Cartersville; ten grandchildren, Brittnie Miller of Colorado Springs, Christie Juarez of Cartersville, Leslie Lynch of White, Elizabeth Stone of Rydal, Hayley Belle Amos of Rockmart, Lonni Hoenshel of Taylorsville, Gabrielle Amos of Taylorsville, Tyler " Bubba" Juarez of Cartersville, Brody and Acree Adams both of Taylorsville; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 8, 2013 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Pastor Ronnie Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Amos, Charles Amos, David Lamb, Travis Haney, Charles Prather and Devon Cordell.
