Wilma Leachman

February 13, 1937 — April 9, 2009

Wilma Jean Leachman, 72, of Cartersville passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center. Born February 13, 1937 in Rome, she was the daughter of the late Dartie Wooten and the late Fannie Bell Rogers Wooten. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Marie Bristol, and her grandson, Jacky Amos.



Jean had retired as a process operator from Gladd Manufacturing after 31 years of employment. Her other lifetime job was her family. Jean enjoyed taking care of her family and friends. She was a very positive person and had a very big spirit for such a small person. Many of Jean�s family and friends referred to her as the �energizer bunny.� She was loved by all of her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.



Survivors include her children and their spouses, Diane Crider of Cartersville, Sherry and Danny Ferrell of Dallas, Charles and Susan Brandenburg of Euharlee, Steve and Tina Bohannon of Cartersville, and Dennis and Dorrie Johnson of Cartersville; her grandchildren, Ricky Carter, Greg Carter, Erica Ferrell, Nathan Lee, Chris Lee, Michael Cagle, Stacey Leon, Mason Brandenburg, Sesilee Clifford, Joshua Cocks, Levi Roland, Chelsea Bohannon, Brittani Bohannon, Drew Johnson, and Daylan Johnson; 8 great-grandchildren; her great-aunt, Elvie McGill of Lafayette; her special niece, Carol Jett; and her special friends, Mary Dell Huffman and Franklin Meeks.



A celebration of Jean�s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Raccoon Creek Baptist Church with Rev. James Black and Rev. Mike Boatfield officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 1101 North Chase Parkway, Suite 1, Marietta, GA 30067.
