Yvonne Hawkins

Mrs. Yvonne Adams Hawkins, age 78, of 1280 Mauldin Road, Calhoun, GA, died Thursday, March 29, 2007, in Calhoun.

Mrs. Hawkins was born in Alpharetta, GA, on June 4, 1928, the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Ward Adams. She was a housewife and homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Hawkins enjoyed having visitors over. She was preceded in death by Mr. Clyde F. Hawkins to whom she was married on November 30, 1946. Also preceding her in death were two grandchildren, Debbie Weeks and Shane Weeks.

Mrs. Hawkins is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Allen Weeks of Adairsville, GA; a son and daughter-in-law, Leslie and Jeannie Hawkins of Rome, GA; five grandchildren Tonya Weeks York, Joshua Weeks, Adam Hawkins, Cain Hawkins and Blain Hawkins; seven great-grandchildren, Brittany York, Deborah York, Ashley Weeks, Gage Hawkins, Mattison Hawkins, Alley Hawkins and Kinsley Hawkins.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hawkins will be held on Monday morning at 11 a.m. in the Woffords Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. James Storey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hawkins will be carried to the church on Monday to lay in-state from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home. At other hours they will be at their respective homes.

Pallbearers are asked to meet at the church on Monday by 10:30 a.m. and include her grandsons, Joshua Weeks, Adam Hawkins, Cain Hawkins and Blain Hawkins. Also serving will be Jodie Rhodes and Wayne York.
