Zackery Knox

Zackery Wallace Knox, 86, of Cartersville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at his residence.

Born on January 26, 1936, in Cherokee County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Ossie Sloan Knox and Goldie Jane Knox. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Lorie Knox, and his siblings Hazel Chastain, Irene Myrick, Frank Knox, Joe Knox, and Betty Cothran.

Zack is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dianne Knox; his children Chad Knox (Vickie), Bryan Knox (Christy), Brenda Evans (Jeff), Lynette Wright (Eddie), Gary Knox (Sheri); grandchildren Eric Bell (Alli), Craig Leonard, Carson Knox, Hannah Knox, Savanna Knox, Asia Knox, Dalton Knox, and several others, many great grandchildren; and mother-in-law Mary Barnette.

Zack retired from Nantucket Industries after 30 years. He was a good loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the Lord, was a hard worker and was a great example of how to live. Zack loved going to the mountains and camping on weekends and vacations. He also collected pipes and loved old cars.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023, in the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home, with Pastor Byron Chastain officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday, January 5, 2023.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmie Stokes, Brad Cothran, Craig Leonard, Eric Bell, Carson Knox, and Shane Knox. Honorary Pallbearers are Billy Ledford and Jim King.
