Obituary for John Wesley Parker

Mr. John Wesley Parker, 73, of Taylorsville, died Sunday, April 5, 2015 at his residence.

Born August 13, 1941 in Acworth, he was a son of the late Herman Thomas Parker, and the late Annie Lee Dupree Parker. He was of the Baptist Faith and had worked for many years for Bobo Plumbing. Mr. Parker enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Toby Parker and Earl Parker; and a sister, Rachel Collins.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Barbara Parker; daughters, Tina Britton and her husband Kenneth of Emerson, Christy Parker of Taylorsville, Melissa Childers and her husband Adam of Whittier, NC, Jennifer Flowers and her husband Michael of Piedmont, AL, and Annie Parker of Taylorsville; sons, Johnny Parker, Michael Parker, and Thomas Parker, all of Taylorsville; sisters, Sarah Gayton, and Shirley Ledford, both of Acworth; brothers, Herb Dupree, Herschel Parker, and Buster Parker, all of Acworth; grandchildren, Jessica Britton, Harley Britton, Lily Smith, Kayden Childers, Daijah Hall, Tabitha Flowers, and Gloria Flowers; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Acworth, with The Reverend Gerald McPherson officiating. Interment will follow in Rolling Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the service.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Kenneth Britton, Adam Childers, Charlie Culver, Justin Cargile, Tommy Parker, and Michael Flowers.
