Obituary for Bobby "Shane" Morris

Mr. Bobby “ Shane” Morris, 42, of Cartersville, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from injuries sustained in an accident. Born in Floyd County, October 18, 1972, he was the son of Barbara Ray Harris and Mitchell David Morris.
Shane was a proud veteran having served in the United State Marines. He was deployed three times in defense of our country in the Global War on Terror. Shane served two tours of duty in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan. He was awarded many medals, badges and ribbons such as the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal , Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Three Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global war on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal and a Navy Unit Commendation.
Shane was a loving and devoted father and a friend to all. He enjoyed going to the lake and fishing.
Survivors include his mother, Barbara Ray Harris of Cartersville; his father, Mitchell David Morris of Cartersville; his children, Khloe Ann Mulkey and Thomas Isaac Morris both of Cartersville; his grandfather, J. R. Ray; his siblings, Michael David Morris and Todd Evan Gosselin both of Cartersville, Beverly Hutchins of St. Louis, Missouri and Nicole Marie Morris of Cartersville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Michael Abernathy officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 9 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
