Obituary for James Hopkins

Mr. James G. Hopkins, 77, of Adairsville, died Monday, June 29, 2015 at his residence. Born in Plainville, Georgia on November 1, 1937, he was the son of the late Arthur Monroe Hopkins and Lydia Bonnell Hopkins.
Mr. Hopkins retired from Johnny’s Grading and Hauling in Hiram and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in Washington State and Alaska, along with listening to country music, doing carpentry work, gardening and watching NASCAR.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Lynda Balestra Hopkins of Adairsville; his daughter, Tammy Brock (Larry) of Euharlee; his son, Richard Hopkins (Shirley) of Adairsville; four grandchildren, Katrina, Joshua and Jamie Brock, Kayla and Ricky Cole; his great-grandson, Landon Cole; his sisters, Peggy Clark of White, Betty Fritz (Warren) of Cartersville and Carolyn Clark of White.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 3, 2015 in the Georgia National Cemetery with the Reverend Joe Nix officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 a.m. on Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
