Edna Newberrry  Brumbelow
Mrs. Edna Newberry Brumbelow, 90, of Marietta, formerly of Cartersville, died Friday, August 28, 2015 at Maple Ridge Health Care Center.

Born July 16, 1925 in Canton, GA, she was a daughter of the late Walter Newberry and the late Mary Mae Whelchel Newberry. Mrs. Brumbelow was a “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II and was a member of First Baptist Church of Cartersville. She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Oglethorpe Chapter #122 of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Daughters of the Nile. She was also a member of the North Georgia Relic Hunters, Inc. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lila Sharp and Kathryn Smith; and four brothers, Howard, James, Vonne and Bobby Newberry.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, George Bell Brumbelow, Jr.; daughter, Denise Hunton and her husband Marshall of Woodstock; sisters, Sandra Teague of Marietta, and Audrey Hollingshed of Douglasville; brother, Ronald Newberry of Augusta; grandchildren, Melissa Ann Wilder, Michael A. Dickson, and Rebecca Lynn Giddens; great-grandchildren, Spencer Duval, Carrie Taylor and Savannah Dickson; great-great-grandchildren, Cade Taylor and Keeley Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Doug Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
