Obituary for Huey Leon Davis
Mr. Huey Leon Davis, 76, of Cartersville, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Cartersville Medical Center.
Born in Smyrna, Georgia on May 23, 1939, he was the son of the late Emmett Davis and Maude Mathis Davis. Mr. Davis retired from Gold Kist where he was an Office Manager. He was a veteran having served in the United State Army and was active in veteran support groups. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, was an avid Bulldog fan and was in involved with politics. In addition to his parents, he is preceded by several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Williams Davis of Cartersville; his children, Elizabeth & Darryl Haney, Rhonda Davis-Seifert, Steven “Rip” Davis and Joy and Justin Wimpy; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; along with several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Justin Kimbrell officiating. Interment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Wimpy, Chase Wimpy, Steve Davis, Joshua Haney, Randall Williams, Kayla Davis-Anderson and Kaitlen Wimpy.
