Obituary for Oliver "Guy" Lipscomb

Mr. Oliver Guy Lipscomb, 78, of Rydal, died Monday, February 01, 2016 at his residence. Born in Cassville on January 2, 1938, he was the son of the late John L. Lipscomb and Lola M. Bishop
Mr. Lipscomb attended Glade Baptist Church and was retired from the Bartow County Board of Education. He was an avid coon hunter, a master gardener and loved farming and his cattle.
Survivors include his fiancée, Renate Cowart; his sister, LaNelle Wood; his brothers, J. W. Lipscomb and Bob Lipscomb; nine grandchildren; his nieces and nephews, Becky Tanner, Angela McKee and Garrett Tanner.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Kyle Coker and The Reverend Drew Elrod officiating. Interment will follow in White Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kyle Cowart, Steve Ross, Jarrod Wood, Bentley Bagwell, Lamar Hover, Joey Deams, Garrett Tanner and Michael Bramlett. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Bartow, Melvin Kilgore, James Huskins, Talmadge Holleran, Jimmy Young, Paul Young and Dean Bagwell.
