Obituary for George Henry Chapman

George Henry  Chapman
Mr. George Henry Chapman, 67, died Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Floyd Medical Center. Born May 8, 1949 in Mt. Hope, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Clarence Chapman and Pearl Strickland Chapman.

George was a loyal and patriotic man. He served his country in the United States Marines. George was a big hearted man who loved his wife and family. He also loved West Virginia football and did not want to be disturbed when he was watching it. Preceding him in death along with his parents is his wife, Theresia Buttrick Chapman.

He is survived by his children, Pearl Faulkenberry (Chad), Mary Evans (Billy) and J.R. Allen (Linda); his siblings, Denny Chapman, Linda Frye, Brenda Bailey, Larry Chapman, Ronnie Chapman, Jimmy Chapman, Glen Chapman and Charlie Chapman; his grandchildren, Ashley Shuler (Trent), Tyler Harley, Christian Hartley, T.J. Evans, Hunter Evans Whitney, Courtney and Christopher Clements ; his great-grandchildren, Owen Shuler, Nellie Mae Shuler, Bryanna, Bryson, Brayden, Gracie and Ryver.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Marlon Haney officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service.

Tyler Hartley, Christian Hartley, Matthew Madden, Matthew Lee, Mark Chapman and Kenny Chapman will serve as active pallbearers.
