Mrs. Gladys Starr Quick Quinn, age 85, of Rome, GA, died Saturday afternoon, April 14, 2007, in a local assisted living facility.
A native of Rome and Floyd County, Mrs. Quinn was born on January 15, 1922, daughter of the late J.W. and Jessie Mae Quick. She was an active member at Redmond Road Church of Christ until she was able to attend due to illness. Mrs. Quinn was first and foremost a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, but she did work outside of the home a brief time. She was associated with Enloe Drug Store, Dari Delight, and Brazelton-Wallace. Mrs. Quinn loved cooking and reading in her spare time. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Quinn, to whom she married on February 22, 1936; a baby daughter, Joyce Marie Quinn; and two granddaughters, Jackie Colburn and Julie Colburn.
Mrs. Quinn is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David (Brenda) Quinn of Silver Creek, GA; three daughters and sons-in-law, Nellie (James) McKennon of Resaca, GA, Linda (James) Camp of Centre, AL, and Ann (Jimmy) Folds of Rome, GA; eleven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.
Graveside and interment services will be held this (Monday) afternoon at 2 P.M. in the Floyd Memory Gardens with Rev. Ronnie Newberry officiating.
