Obituary for Raymond Roy Griffin

Raymond Roy  Griffin
Mr. Raymond Roy Griffin, 77, of Cartersville, died Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Wellstar Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain.

Born October 23, 1936 in Venice, Illinois, he was a son of the late Fred Wesley Griffin and the late Minnie Louetta Wheeler Griffin. Mr. Griffin was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He retired as a Tech Sergeant after 21 years of service with the United States Air Force, during his service he traveled to 21 different countries and served aboard Air Force One. Mr. Griffin was a member of the Retired Enlistment Association and was an avid reader. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Rose Mary Griffin; and a son, Roger Keith Griffin.

Survivors include his daughter, Ilene Michelle Culp and her husband Eric of White; son, Raymond Donald Griffin and his partner Ronaldo Haryono of Calgary, Alberta Canada; and grandchildren, Breanna Cheyene Culp, Stephen Alexander Griffin, and Dylan Thomas Culp.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with The Reverend Juan Anzora officiating. Interment will follow Floyd Memory Gardens in Rome. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 12, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
