Obituary for Betty Carlisle Cobb

Mrs. Betty Winn Carlisle Cobb, 84, of Cartersville, widow of the late Harold Carlisle, and the late Herschel Cobb, died Sunday, July 26, 2015 at her home, that she loved.

Born September 13, 1930 in Marietta, she was a daughter of the late A. D. Mitchell and the late Sugar Booth Mitchell. Mrs. Cobb was a member of Rowland Springs Baptist Church where she attended the Gleaners Sunday School Class. She was a talented and devoted caregiver for many families in our community. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Carlisle; a grandson, Seth Hibbard; brothers, Adrian Mitchell and Max Mitchell; and sisters, Opal Hartsfield and Nancy Whitley.

Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Greene and her husband Calvin, and Renee Hibbard and her husband Dale; brother, Marvin Mitchell and his wife Peggy; daughter-in-law, Theresa Carlisle-Lowe, all of Cartersville; sister-in-law, Maryanna Mitchell of Shelbyville, TN; step-children, Randall Cobb, Lynn Hardin, Debra Franklin, and Bryan Cobb, all of Cartersville; grandchildren, Shane Blackman, Scott Blackman, Rebecca Williams, Randi Winn McSwain, Francie Brown, and Cami Carlisle; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Faye Smith and Maddie Lois Davis.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Rowland Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Ringwalt and Reverend Chris McSwain officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church, from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Scott Blackman, Shane Blackman, Reuben Lowe, Joe Beasley, Tyler Blackman, and Tyler Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sam Franklin, Jr. and Henry Lee Smith.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Rowland Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 79 Rowland Springs Road SE, Cartersville, GA 30121, in memory of Betty.
