Carl Walter  Strickland, Sr.
Mr. Carl Walter (Scott) Strickland, Sr., 79, of Cartersville, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Fulton County on March 13, 1937, Mr. Strickland was the son of the late Dwight Strickland and Annie Merle Ayers Strickland.

Mr. Strickland was a member of Cassville Baptist Church, a man of faith and loved the gospel of Jesus. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his family and grandchildren and was a wonderful provider for his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Griffith and brother, Dwight (Duck) Strickland.

Survivors include his loving wife, Jackie Hyde Strickland; his daughter, Carla Wilson; his son, Carl Walter Strickland, Jr.; his grandchildren, Dustin Strickland, Joshua Strickland, Matthew Beck, Jacob Beck and Lane Griffith; his great-grandchildren, Colton Beck, Carson Cruz, Brooklyn Cruz, Presley Heater and James Lowery; his siblings, Frankie Daniel and Willard Strickland.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2016 in the Sunset Memory Gardens with The Reverend Oval Nation, Carl Strickland and Dustin Strickland officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12 Noon – 1:30 p.m.at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Beck, Jake Beck, Dustin Strickland, Lane Griffith, Bo Edwards and Chris Edwards.
