Robert  Harvell  Taylor, Sr.
Mr. Robert Harvell Taylor, Sr., age 73, of Cartersville, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Cartersville Medical Center. Mr. Taylor was born on January 5, 1943 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the son of the late Hugh Taylor and Florence Ensey Taylor.

Mr. Taylor was a member of Atco Baptist Church and loved the Lord. He was a graduate of University of Tennessee and loved watching Tennessee football. He taught Science in the Dade County School System before entering the grocery business where he worked until retirement. Mr. Taylor’s family and grandchildren were his life. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Robert Harvell Taylor III.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Margaret “Bobbie” Taylor of Cartersville; his children, Jennifer Gass (Tim) of Evans, Georgia, Heather Pulsifer (Greg) of Cartersville, Robert H. Taylor II (Veronica) of Cartersville and Christopher Taylor (Natalie) of Cartersville; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his siblings, Betty Trentham of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Billy Jakes of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Jimmy Jakes of Kansas City, Missouri; along with several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Atco Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Boatfield officiating. Interment will follow in Euharlee Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Taylor will be carried to the church on Sunday where he will lie-in-state for one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Baca, Bill Bishop, Jimmy Amos, Rashid Tankson, Francisco Torres and Channing McDaniel.

Flowers will be accepted, but for those who wish, donations may be mailed to Shriners Hospital for Children, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington, Kentucky, 40502 in memory of Mr. Taylor.
